Rolex Datejust ref. 16014 — 1982
The Rolex Datejust ref. 16014 needs little introduction. Produced from 1979 to 1988, it represents one of the most refined iterations of the Datejust line, combining the reliability of the calibre 3035 movement with a case and dial configuration that has never gone out of style. This 1982 example is a testament to that formula.
At 36mm, the proportions are exactly right. Not a millimetre too large, not a millimetre too small. The stainless steel case is paired with a white gold fluted bezel that has developed a warm, slightly creamy tone over the decades, sitting beautifully against the brushed and polished surfaces of the case.
The silver stick dial is where this watch really earns its keep. Original, untouched, and showing a wonderfully even patina across the full surface. The applied gold-toned baton indices and matching hands have aged in perfect harmony with the dial, giving it that quiet warmth that only time can produce. No redial, no replaced parts, no tampering. Just four decades of honest aging doing its thing.
The jubilee bracelet ref. 62510H completes the watch as it should. It shows natural wear and some stretch, entirely consistent with its age, and wears comfortably on the wrist as you can see in the lifestyle shot.
A clean, original, unpolished example of one of the most wearable vintage Rolex references out there. Sold watch only.
