The term Wide Boy refers to the unusually wide hour markers, which give this dial a stronger, more confident presence compared to standard Datejust dials. Combined with the fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet, it strikes a rare balance between classic elegance and subtle sportiness.
This configuration stands out without being loud. It’s increasingly hard to find in good, original condition, which only adds to its appeal.
For us, the 1601 Wide Boy represents everything a great vintage Datejust should be: characterful, well-proportioned, and timeless. A favorite for a reason.
